As Your Photographer
You will be greeted with an enthusiastic, friendly welcome! That energy will carry through our session. My top priority as your photographer is ensuring you as my subject is comfortable and having F U N!!! This is the most important component of my session approach and the foundation of my photoshoots. I create an enjoyable session atmosphere where you‘ll feel free to be YOURSELF.
I understand how frustrating it can be to not feel comfortable in front of the camera. You're worried about how to pose, where to look, if your hair is placed how you like it, if you are smiling right etc. When you work with me, I will attend our session prepared with my natural fun posing direction, my creative process, and my signature session style while paying close attention alllll the small details like hair placement and making sure your necklace is straight.
I photograph you in a way that you’ll feel amazing about yourself. You’ll look back on your images recognize yourself and see the true happiness on your face from the FUN session experience you had with your photo friend Alli Jo!!!! You will see your true smile, and feel yourself laughing in your images of yourself. Your cheeks will seriously be sore from smiling and laughing!
My posing is a movement based so I'll keep you moving a lot with prompts, but always checking in to make sure it feels natural to you. You’ll NEVER just be standing in front of the camera awkwardly. When you choose AJP, your choosing a fun and relaxed atmosphere where you can be yourself AND enjoy the entire experience. The energy I bring is vibrant and joyful. You will feed off of my positive energy and enjoy the entire experience. I will continually direct you and give you positive feedback during the entirety of our time together. Trust me, one thing about my sessions I know to be true... there's never a dull moment and we will laugh sooo much together! I am so ready to have fun with you!

I'm Alli! The energetic, excited photo gal behind Alli Jo Photo, specializing in creative portrait photography in Central MI.
I am a 23-year-old hometown, girl. Alma, MI / Gratiot County has been my home since I was born and being a 2017 Alma High School graduate I have grown up loving my small town, and the people that live here more than anything.
After graduating high school I attended CMU, working multiple jobs, and pursuing photography on the side. During the start of my junior year of college, I made the decision to discontinue college and pursue photography full-time. Alli Jo Photo, LLC has been the greatest journey of my life thus far. I am so happy to be a full-time photographer.

I am the oldest of two sisters and one brother, we are incredibly close. I believe family comes first over anything with my whole heart. My parents are fun, kind-hearted, get-the-job-done people. They taught us that we can do anything we set our mind to with hard work, encouraging do not to stop until we achieve it attitude.
They taught us to be kind, and respectful, and treat others how we want to be treated. We grew up on a small hobby farm seven miles out of town. Our family has always been highly involved in our community and still is to this day. We take every opportunity to spend time all together as a family attending small-town functions, hanging out at our house together, and camping. Every summer we go camping at our favorite locations in the mitten, Pentwater for the 4th of July and Lake Superior for a week in August.

I recently got engaged to the absolute love of my life, Zack. He proposed during the 8-mile hike at Pictured Rocks during our family vacation in the summer of 2021. We have been together for four years prior. I am grateful for his constant tremendous, no-questions-asked support.
He was there during the summer of 2019 helping my dad, brother, and uncle build my 16by20 indoor photography studio. His positive, joyous outlook on life has inspired me greatly. Zack and I love to sit talking for hours about everything, taking an afternoon to go skiing, or spending time with our three extremely beloved Lab-Newfoundland dogs. We are currently planning our wedding and looking to buy a home! Our dream is to have a backyard wedding at our first home with all our people in 2024.
I am a Photogragher Today because of my Mom
Since I was young, I have been photographed by my mom, the one behind the camera. She would take photos of us all year round and then create a photo album for every year of our life. We each have a photo book from 1 - 10 yr old all documenting our life. She captured us naturally, the way we were, our biggest accomplishments, and the smallest meaningful moments. She has inspired me to do the same! When she would be taking photos of us, we would start to hear the long and carried-out word, "cheeeeseee" when she wanted us to look at her. That was our signal to look smile as long as she was saying that word. It's second nature for us to be in front of a camera. She is known for being the photo lady by all our friends and family. I have watched my mom happily, calmly, and contently organize our family of 80+ people together for a photo. All while ensuring she got in the photo too! She is known for always having her camera and taking photos. I have watched her take photos of all our friends and send them the photos in the mail and now post them on FB. She still takes photos to this day. Photography is in my DNA, from being in the photos and taking the photos!
The art of documenting life in a consistent manner with a camera has been the most natural and significant aspect of my life! I understand firsthand the examples of how photographic memories bring out real emotion and are the most cherished piece of memory. I have watched my mom sitting at the table creating our photo albums tearing up while revisiting all of the memories she had captured. She has had a camera in hand, for forever. There are so many stories she has told about her and her camera back before we were all born. She talks about her trips with her camera, the awards her photos have won, and all the small details of life that make her most excited to capture with her camera. She has been taking photos and growing her passion for photography for decades. She has inspired me in so many ways. She and I now often take trips to photograph new and old places around Michigan. She will be forever my biggest supporter and inspiration. I am so grateful!

How to Book Alli Jo Photo As Your Photogragher!!!!
01. Book Your Session With Me
Contact me by using the link below or send me an email! Then you’ll pick your session package, we’ll sign a contract and set a date!
02. Get Prepared
Next, we'll prep in the weeks and months leading up to your session, answering questions and providing guidance on things like session vision, outfits, location, etc. We will complete this through emails, a session questionnaire, and a phone call.
03. Session Time
Your session is here! Get ready to have some fun (no really, it'll be a blast). I say good riddance to awkward photo sessions. I'll help you feel comfortable and at ease in front of my camera, so your photos reflect your true personality.
04. Ooh and Aah Over Your Images
Your images will be delivered via digital gallery 2 weeks after your session, with a full print release attached. Print them out, send them to family, share on social media, put them on the fridge, or make a photo book to adore your coffee table!
